      The Liberal Gun Club is all about root cause mitigation. I don't agree with a lot of what they say there aside from that and absolute right to guns, but they're right on those two items.

      As far as I can tell, in Indiana, a black powder arm is a firearm. If you want to stretch the definition, so are certain types of air rifles. Serious violent felons cannot possess firearms, but it looks like regular ol' felons may, just so long as they're not trying to carry handguns. To me...

      It's the State doing this. The teachers I know complain about the dumbing down of the curriculum. One history teacher threw the new standards on the TV and showed the students how simple it's gotten. The requirements for some important events and people have been brought down to a sentence or two.

      I substitute teach at my kids' schools, and they definitely learn cursive and maintain the skill. The other day, an English teacher had them writing, "Closing time, you don't have to go home but you can't stay here" as practice.
