WTB: AK-47 WANTED BUT DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE TO BUY

Hello: I am a Vietnam Vet and I know a little about the Ak-47s. I probably had a couple hundred in my hands at one time back in the 70s. I do believe that they are not the kind I would like to have in my collection right now and I am asking you guys out there to help me out a little. My Birthday is coming up soon and my wife said what ever I wanted she would get it for me. So I said how about a Ak-47 and to my surprise she said ok just let her know which model and what all things to look for. So guys I am looking for something that is made well and not something that I will have trouble with. Thanks

Do you like the wood look or the "tactical" look. The Yugo's from J&G sales look and feel similar to the old Chinese made with about half the price. I would pick a Yugo over a Century made Romanian. Or if you where wanting to spend a little more money, I would look at the builds that Atlantic firearms sells. You can't really go wrong with any AK but I would try to avoid WASR's. Thats just my $0.02
