Thanks, this picture doesnt do justice for this hog.

Nice fish. What town were you close to while fishing?

maumee ohio, just need a set a waders and a fishing pole. Googling maumeetackle will yield a page with data on the river and fishing.

Last year dad caught one 14 lbs 10 oz

I hope to make another trip in a week or 2, temps are still a little low.

8lbs. Pictures add at least 2lbs on the internet.

most people tend to over estimate, in this case i think its fair to say it was an under esimate, its was over 3 feet long. Bad thing is this wasnt anything near the biggest fish i seen caught yesterday. Alot of 5lb+ fish.

Fish are just starting to turn on there i hope to go back after its daddy.

Wait. Over 3 feet long??? So let's say 37". Can't even find a chart that lists one that long but extrapolating from charts this fish would be over 16 lbs and perhaps over 25 years old and undoubtedly a female headed upstream to spawn.

I sure hope you took him to an official scale as that fish is a state record fish.

It was a female, over 10lbs for sure, over 16lbs not even close. This wasnt even close the the biggest fish caught. I hope to go back in a week or so, i will take a scale and catch another 37" just to get a weight and picture for you :)

Deadeye, thank you so much for the picture, update and advice! Please, please, please keep us in the loop in the future.

The above said, I am not fond of guesstimates when it comes to fishing.
Folks in my neighborhood catch 17-18", 2-2.5 lb. crappy with regularity. Funny thing is, I've yet to see a picture with a yardstick or scale in it...

Again, I love the updates, please take no offense. Just a real sore spot with me.

Yeah but I rounded up too, because to me it looks 7-7.5lbs.

That is the beauty of most fishing stories, no witnesses!

The biggest fish I caught was a 37lbs Yellowfin tuna outside of LA near Catallina Island.

Nice catch, how did it taste?
