1" @ 100 yards is a pretty hefty claim for a 17hmr considering a 5 mile per hour crosswind can ruin a group from a rifle that is actually capable of that performance. If what he says is true, buy it for the simple fact that it's an above average shooter. Better yet, meet him at his place and have him shoot a group like that in front of you before you buy it. I wouldn't care what it looked like if it consistently did that !!!
