I am thinking of building my own ak 47 out of a parts kit. I need help on the receiver. I don't really want to buy a bending jig to make one or two ak's. I would like to build one along side someone who has already done it.
if anyone is going to build on or will help me get me receiver done let me know thanks.

    Totally agree^^^^^^^^^

Pre bent is way easier. At the last build party, guys with heat treated pre-bent recievers went home with completed rifles. I bent a couple of Tapco's and they turned out great but needed to be heat treated before assy. It would have been much easier to just drill the holes in the jig and start putting it together especially with all the expertise that was available at the party. You could also just get a complete receiver from Nodak Spud or Southern Armament and be done with it.

If you bend a flat or drill a pre-bent, you still heat treat after. Heat treating first is going to cause problems (like dulling a lot of drill bits).
