I'm confused. You say he's anti-gun why? According to votesmart.org, he's gone from a "B" rating to an "A" in the last 10 years or so, and other organizations seem to think he's more pro- than anti- as well.
Also, this story is from 2009, and Mr. Soles ended his political career in 2010. I'm not sure when they enacted it, but NC is a Castle Doctrine state now. If it was then as well, I have to wonder why he was indicted for shooting a man who was breaking into his house and why he eventually entered a guilty plea on an assault charge.
