I am selling this for my father. My grandfather bought it years ago, and had passed it down to my dad. Currently it just sits in his safe, and he'd prefer to sell it to someone who would value the gun more.
From what we have been told, it was manufactured in 1943. The grip is original, and the SN on the slide matches the frame. It's in good condition as well.
According to the guys on the 1911 forum, https://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=695849, the value of the gun ranges $2800-$3000 as it sits.
I'd prefer to sell it to someone here on INGO instead of placing the gun on GunBroker.
I'm asking $1900.00. Cash only, no trades. Located in Jamestown, but will travel at a reasonable distance.

From what I have been recently told, it does not have the original Colt barrel. It has a High Standard, which was most likely a field replacement.
The magazine is also not original, but you can still find them.
What matters most is the Serial Numbers match.
