My experiences with IN DNR in this area has been excellent. It may take a little work to get in contact with your local DNR Officer, but they take this stuff seriously and haven’t hesitated to hand out charges and hefty fines. Local law enforcement on the other hand, didn’t care too much.
Pictures or video are gold these days. Maybe put a bait camera somewhere obvious with another hidden trail camera filming it?
My experience with IDNR folks has been extremely good, but since I work with them for rescue, I would hope so :-)
The bait camera is an idea I use a lot. I keep my older or non-functioning cameras in the obvious locations. My better quality cameras are much better hidden and watch the bait cameras as well as looking for deer. I have an old defunct chainsaw sitting out near the wood pile that is also watched over by a hidden camera, and a couple of old POS bicycles in the same type of situation. I also live very deep in the woods and one of us is usually home, so rarely have any trespassers near the house.
Hunting over bait?
