I've consciously tried to limit the number of different caliber firearms that I own due to have to maintain a diverse stock. Whether it is the advantage of buying in bulk for range time or the most strident TEOTWAWKI subscriber who wants to maintain the Keep It Simple Stupid adage, multiple calibers can be... time consuming.

Somehow it never works out that way for me:

    Handguns: .22 LR, .25 ACP, .32 ACP, .32 S&W Long, .380, .38 S&W Long, .38 Special, 9mmP, .357 Magnum, .45 ACP, and .45 LC.

    Shotguns: 12 gauge & .410.

    Rifle: .22 LR, .223, 7mm Mauser and 30-30.

    Multiples in a few (9mm, .38, .357 & .45 ACP) but I've still whittled down a few... 10mm comes immediately to mind.

Not number of firearms, but the number of different ammunitions you "stock."

Oops... I see it now. "15," "20" and "25" are each on two choices. Hmmm... I shouldn't post when late - I'm going to bed. Just vote for the "high side" if you hit one of those three numbers.

Im going into how much of each I have. Some more than others as I place importance on a select few. For example......I own one 12 gauge shotgun and have 5 shells for it, this being the lowest on my list.

    I love 9mm & 7.62x39

    Not much 25,380,38/357,30-06,7.5x55.

I used to have 7.62x39, .32 and .45 in the mix, as well, but made a concerted effort to standardize on a smaller number of calibers a few years ago. That effort has been successful, but has caused me to skip out on a number of cool toys because they are in a caliber I don't already own. :noway:

First we find out that he's never seen a Monty Python movie in it's entirety, now we find he only owns three calibers. Hmmmmmm............... What's next??? .......... His favorite color is PINK?!?!?!?!? :lmfao::thumbsup::lmfao::thumbsup::lmfao:

No, pink is my color. ;)

And blame the caliber count on his wife. We don't need the number of guns we have; we're trying to reduce our inventory. We have a rifle, a shotgun, and five handguns, hopefully soon about to be four. :)

I can't explain the Monty Python thing though. I'm dumbfounded by it. James and I are taking steps to correct that. :):

    WHAT!?!?! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!

Grab your coconuts and send your swallows... (European ones, since African are not migratory) and we will invade with an exuberant amount of French Taunting.

I'll bring the movie. Just clear the way for flying barnyard animals...

Oh, and so I'm still on topic... I stock

    9mm
    7.62x39
    .45
and soon to be .223 again since I miss my M4

Tell me how having three exceptionally easy to find, and functional calibers is a bad thing?

I can stock 12 gauge Slugs for large game, and shot for anywhere from pigeons to deer.

I can kill rodents with the .22 Savage. (as well as get in lots of target practice with the Mosquito and 22A for not a lot of money)

And a 9mm handgun is hardly anemic for self defense.

For me this setup Sure beats adding 1000 rounds or more of .308 for big game, another 1000 rounds or more for .223 for two legged game, and whatever else......
