Given the current political climate of America, I observe a very real effort to propagandize Americans in preparations for the coming shift to hard-socialism/communism. Schools teach kids more about global warming, racial profiling, and abortion than they do about the U.S. Constitution. The Socialist Democrats running the country have been working to shift the mentality of Americans for a long time. Hollywood and pop-culture is helping and playing into their hand.
This thread is to post examples of American Pop-Culture that subversively or openly promotes Communism.
Americans need to see the Communist undertones of the things they expose their kids to. These include movies, books, cartoons, tv shows, songs, etc. These are a few examples I thought of. There are dozens more, I am sure.
Please post more examples if you can think of them.

The Smurfs (tv show, 1980s)
The 1980's hit cartoon featured a utopian society of Smurfs, who all dressed alike, collectively pooled resources, had assigned jobs that never changed, and were led by Papa Smurf who had a Marxesque white beard.
The basis of the show as well as the themes of the episodes readily espoused communism. Harmless? Maybe. But leftist indoctrination nonetheless.
Other people have made this observation as well and have given more detailed analysis. See here:

John Lennon - Imagine (song, 1971)
Lennon's song Imagine has been described as his own "Communist Manifesto." Reading the lyrics, you see that in his utopia, there is no possessions, no religion, no heaven/hell, no greed, etc. Lennon was an admitted communist who sought to end capitalism in America and Britain while getting filthy rich from his music career.

Che Guevara Shirts and Posters
The Communist revolutionary leader is a favorite icon of alternative pop-culture today in leftist America. It is common to see t-shirts with the marxist murderer's face whether shopping at the Gap or worn by fellow students in high school. He is worshiped by those who don't even understand what he did. A poster of Che was photographed in one of President Obama's campaign offices.
Michael Moore - Capitalism (movie, 2009)
Moore, the renowned leftist filmmaker propagandist, has a long list of movies that promote liberal/socialist ideals, and attack our American freedoms. Whether promoting socialist health care or fighting to disarm America, Moore has made a name for himself. Moore is openly anti-capitalist and pro-socialist/pro-communist, so one can only imagine the type of material to be shown in his latest movie, Capitalism: A Love Affair.
Oliver Stone - Comandante (movie, 2003)
Oliver Stone, the famous Marxist film director, is a big fan of communist dictators. So much so that he has made several movies promoting them. This one is about Fidel Castro, the infamous communist dictator of Cuba, tyrant and murderer of his own people.
Oliver Stone - Looking For Fidel (movie, 2006)
Stone continues to express his liberal man-crush on Fidel Castro in this documentary, where Stone features a series of interviews with Castro, promoting his dicatorial regime. Below Stone and Castro enjoy a long walk on the beach together, discussing the finer points of totalitarianism and running political prisons.
Steven Soderbergh - Che (movie, 2008)
Hollywood actor Benitio Del Toro played Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara in this liberal love-affair, Che. The protagonist, of course, helped enslave Cuba with a communist dictatorship. Movies like these are frequently Hollywood favorites and prone to be awarded and commended by fellow Marxists in Hollywood.
Oliver Stone - South of the Border (movie, 2009)
The limits of director Oliver Stone's leftist love for dictators didn't stop with Fidel Castro. In this movie he promotes the practices of the Venezuelan dictator, Hugo Chavez.
Below we see a picture of Stone and Chavez embracing as Hugo describes his method of silencing the media in his country. Stone fights back tears of joy.

Sheryl Crow - Soak Up The Sun (song, 2002)
The opening lyrics to Sheryl Crow's song Soak up the Sun, begin as follows:
As this article writes, its not likely she is a communist or understands their philosophy, but she is a "useful idiot" of the left, promoting a leftist agenda in the form of an otherwise pleasant song.
Intellectual Conservative Politics and Philosophy
I'm not sure how to interpret her lyrics, but she didn't put them in the song because the word "communist" was easy to rhyme with. Her seemingly harmless lyrics are just one more stepping stone in lessening the stigma against communism - the antithesis of American liberty and freedom.
My friend the communist
Holds meetings in his RV
I can't afford his gas
So I'm stuck here watching TV

Lil' Wayne - "Communist" shirt in Jay Sean's music video, "Down" (song, 2009)
Not to comment on the intellectual incapacity of "Lil Wayne," his decision to wear a shirt that says "Communist" demonstrates how celebrities continue to more openly promote communism, whether they understand it or not, and inspire their viewers to do the same. Look for the trendy red "Communist" t-shirts in malls near you, and being worn by neighborhood kids.
Das Kapital (Comic, 2008)
Marxist comics also exist for your children's enjoyment.
When Karl Marx alerted economists to the “the knell of capitalist private property” he probably didn’t imagine the phrase cropping-up as a speech bubble in a comic strip for Japanese commuters.
But across the world’s second biggest economy, bookstores from Hiroshima to Hokkaido are preparing for what they expect to be the publishing phenomenon of the year: Das Kapital – the manga version.
The comic, which goes on sale early next month, plays into a growing fascination among Japan’s hard-working labour force with socialist literature and joins a collection of increasingly fierce literary critiques of the global capitalist system.

Empire State Building Glows Red for 60th Anniversary of Communist Takeover of China (2009)
We honor the anniversary of Communism to take over China. Since then more than 40 Million Chinese people have been slaughtered by their Government. Happy Anniversary.
Communist Chinese Flag Flown over Washington for First Time (2009)
Another instance of us honoring the Chinese Communists. In an unprecedented move, the Chinese Flag was flown at equal height to the American flag in the American capitol city. This breaks the US Flag Code, and has sent many a patriot spinning in his grave.

Adidas proudly presents the trendy new Hammer & Sickle hat! Nothing says "cool" like honoring the Soviets. Also available in RED.

To avoid appearing racist, Adidas also created this homage to Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro! Now we can have little Fidel's running around the neighborhood in olive drab. Viva la revolucion!

On this doorway in Rockefeller Plaza, we see two workers, one with a hammer & one with a sickle. It doesn't get any more blatant than that. Communist Propaganda to the bone.
MSNBC's Chris Matthews declares he is a Marxist on live TV
What self-respecting network would give an admitted Marxist his own show to help spread his ideology and propagandize the masses? MSNBC is who. Being proud to represent the antithesis of all that America stands for is pretty shocking, but not in today's world.
