Just take deet. If I can work in a field all day where there are millions of the buggers, I think you'd be ok going to the range for a couple hours or less. 25% deet spray works great, %40 works better!

Bad here. I been wanting to do something shooting or fishing. Made it as far as the garage and ran back in. Those big ones are terrible!

At least their not Black Flies like in Canada or Alaska. DEET only serves as a human condiment for them.
