Oh where do I start? This past weekend was full of so much fun I'm not quite sure how to best capture it. Hopefully these pictures, along with a few words, will be enough to give the reader a sense of this wonderful event.
The day started off with a forecast predicting the possibility of showers throughout the day. We modified our plan of attack slightly and pushed forward. These NFA Noobs were going to get an education and a full baptism into the NFA world rain or shine.
As people pulled to the end of the long gravel drive, they immediately knew that something good was in store.
Attendees were instructed to park, load their gear into the ATV gear shuttle, and then register.
At registration each member was given a nametag and asked to sign a simple liability waiver. Eye and ear protection was available if the member didn't have their own, and Long's Donuts were provided courtesy of INGOer dead2rights.
Once everyone had arrived lovemywoods lead the group in a quick prayer, asking for safety and dry conditions. VUPDblue then went over the safety briefing, detailing the medical action plan. redneckmedic was the day's primary medical responder.
Once everyone and their gear reunited down at the range we kicked things off with VUPDblue's welcome and introduction.

Everyone was then treated to curraheeguns' lecture on suppressors. He touched briefly on their history, their purpose, and the various parts that constitute a suppressor. He also spoke to their legality and what it takes to obtain one. He then turned things over to questions from the participants so he could address those individually.

We then started the first block of shooting suppressors only. Just about everyone decided to go without earpro so they could experience each suppressor first-hand.

Next we moved onto a block on SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs. VUPDblue and bigcraig were our facilitators, and they did a fantastic job.

Participants then wasted no time in getting their hands on the SBRs, SBSs, and especially the AOWs. Although they were probably the most impractical guns on the line, the AOW shorty shotguns have a way of bringing smiles to everyone's faces. Those who dared even took a double-fisted approach.
The final and most anticipated block was on machineguns. shooter521 took the reigns on this topic and gave a well-presented lecture on the law's (funky) definition of a machinegun. He also demonstrated the difference between a registered receiver and a registered drop-in auto sear.

The last part of the range time was then spent blasting away with machineguns of all types. There was a 1919, PPSH41, AK-47, M16, UZI, PS90, Glock 18 (actually a converted 17), Grease Gun, Lusa, and AC556. Shooters made it a personal challenge to completely pierce the dam wall by digging out a monstrous hole with the 1919.

We wrapped up the day on time, just as a few sprinkles began to fall from the sky. Everyone packed up their gear and headed to the house where a feast awaited them. We ate pulled pork, chilli, baked beans, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and a mountain of desserts. No one went home hungry.
I personally enjoyed the socializing just as much as I enjoyed the shooting. INGOers are a great crowd, and I've been impressed with each new crop of noobs that have attended year-after-year.
