As she was getting up, her dog, which is ironically and aptly named Trigger, stepped on top of the shotgun depressing the trigger. The shotgun went off and Allie was shot in the foot at point blank range. Allie suffered injuries to her left foot and toes. The safety of the firearm was not on.

Whats sad is on Facebook, district 1 DNR posted this story. The woman's boyfriend posted how he felt about the DNR posting "lies" and it wasn't funny how people were judging his girlfriend for the accident. He claims she had did hunting safety courses in Ohio and that she had not broken any rules and how upset she was about what people were saying……….I informed him that Rules had been broken and if he didn't think they had been to sell their guns before someone got killed……good grief, ya some people should;t own guns, to think he or they really thought they had done nothing wrong. I then posted the 10 RULES to firearm safety…..hard to tell if he figured it out though.
