Asking for a different route when approaching really bad weather is pretty common. Big thunderstorms can demolish just about anything that flies.

I've flown AirAsia numerous times. They seem to have newer planes that from the outside are in good condition. I really like the airline. Their flights are unbelievably cheap. According to the news, this plane was only 6 years old and last underwent maintenance in November.

I hope this doesn't put them out of business. They still owe me $160.

Planes don't usually go bang, unless someone helps it.
