Do we have anyone in the transmission business on INGO? I've got an issue with an 05 CRV and am guessing it will need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Sounds like you need to replace the fluid completely as a first step. Then get drastic if that doesn't do the trick. I just bought a new Honda Pilot after having my 4-Runner's transmission die out on me. Not worth fixing in a 12 year old vehicle, for me. Is it worth it for you on an 8 year old vehicle?

The transmission fluid has been repaced. It might be worth it to me as I plan to drive it for a long time.

At some point, you gotta pull the plug for sure. But what's a transmission rebuild going to go for? $1500-$2000? That's what--3-4 car payments? Not to mention the cheaper license plates and insurance over a newer vehicle.

Of course with Fenway's INGO money, he probably loses that much in his seat cushions over the course of a year.:D

My best advise, is take it to a GOOD Transmission shop, one near you, or I can reccomend one... and let them drive it ..... if the Service Mgr., is worth his salt, he should be able to diagnose it, with a test drive.....

Please post your recs. I'm on the N side of Indy and had a coworker tell me Dallas Transmission on the East Side did a good job for him.

I have read the article...it is wrong..honda has bulletins out to not use a flush..only drain and fill. Do it 3 times if your having issues before ripping apart..space the fills about 50 to 100 miles apart... There is also a crv forum that is very good..stupid as it sounds..change the rear diff as well...i had same issue and fluid dumps are a fix many times..also clean te plug magnet when changing, it will be loaded.

What fluid did you use? Drain or a flush?
Use only honda fluid..do it yourself..rear diff is also special flud for clutches..

ive seen this same thing on CRV's before. im not a transmission specialist but i have had 3 differant people i know all around your same year have problems at low speeds. it would sound like going over a rumble strip and would slightly shake the vehicle. in all 3 cases it was the torque converter.

How much is a torque convertor. Any ideas? I'm guessing fixing this would be $1500-$3000.

If I let this thing shake for the next 5-10 years what other parts of the vehicle might it impact and will it eventually kill the transmission?
