Anybody hunt with the 357 or 44 caliber out of a levergun for whitetail? What were the terminal results like? Do they feed/chamber well in a levergun?:dunno:

    Yes, deadly, and yes!

Leverevolutions are GREAT deer rounds. .44mags work very well, and chamber nicely in a Marlin 1894:patriot:

The one malfunction I had with my 1894C was with Leverevolution, and it was a doozy! The synthetic tip got caught in the feed mechanism, and we could NOT get it out. Ended up having to resort to a screwdriver to pry it out.

They were very accurate, but I stopped using them after that.

I've hunted for the past 3 years exclusively with the 44 225gr Leverevolution, 2 years with a marlin 1894 pre safety and last year with a Puma scout rifle, and I'll hunt this year with a ruger 77/44 but with the same bullets, I've put down 4 deer with the bullets,

I have have no reservations recommending the bullet on the results of my hunts, I've never had a bullet stay in the deer, I've had good blood trails and none of the deer have went more than 60yds

Hey! Start a new thread and review that 77/44! I've been curious about them, bet others have also.

I've shot the 44 evolutions out of about every type 44 rifle (788,77/44,99/44, 96/44, ruger carbine, and the 1894) and have had excellent results on paper up to 200 yards. I even took the 77/44 sheep hunting due to its light weight. No sheep so no results.
On a side note the only problem I have had with evolutions was in a 500 smith pump rifle. They will not feed. Bullet has to sharp of an angle from 300 grains being spread over 1/2".
