Any ideas on how to carry (on the person) more M1 Carbine magazines.
For example in this pic I see that there are extra mags on that mag

But that won't work on the paratrooper version so how did they carry more mags?

    Thanks

In WW2 they had mag pouches.
    Which you can still find.

And repros of these are made yet today, many of the khaki ones seen for sale recently are repros.
There are 3 basic types of USGI dedicated 30 carb mag pouch, the 15rd two pocket
as seen on the gun pictured, 15rd w/ extra long flap to accept 30rd mags and a 4 cell 30rd mag pouch.
The 30rd 4 cell pouch is also seen in repro versions.

    thanks for checking.
not sure that is the right item. i think that just holds stripperclips with ammo on it ready to be put into magazines. not sure. the 10 clips text is :dunno:

i did find a new design from oloson outfiters that is called a 'stow n go' rig. it looks like an aparon with 6 individual pouches with velcro straps. each pouch holds 1 15rd magazine. cost is $45 but the vendor is all sold out of every rig (he hand makes them) and his website says he is only backlog for 6+ months. :faint:

    so that one is out.

The mags are carried using a magazine pouch on a pistol belt with suspenders.

However this stuff getting too expensive for day to day use. It's also not designed for larger modern people!

The more modern stuff works too, and it's SUPER DIRT CHEAP and will carry your carbine mags just fine.

Visit my webpage for some ideas and hit a surplus store for some ALICE gear for a few bucks.

Then use the ALICE gear like you see on my webpage.

    US Nylon Field Gear

The Military is dumping it on the market right not EN MASSE, it's stupid cheap.

The Alice mag pouches will hold a lot of things you would want to carry. Including carbine mags. You can get a set off ebay or from surplus stores for 20 to 30 bucks, and it's SUPER available right now.

This is M1956 gear, but it's much the same but in canvas. With me using the carbine with it.

I've seen 2 mag pouches that were for web gear with the loops on the back & 2 mag pouches for the gunstock.
