Anyone know where to get a rear peep style sight for a Remington 597? I just bought one off a guy I work with for $100 and wanted to set it up to use for Appleseeds. I already checked Tech Sights website and no luck there. Also so far no luck at Midway or Brownells. Anyone else have any leads? :dunno:

Sure if it has the standard 3/8 inch dovetail slot.
    Barrel Mount

the barrel mount one works well if it works for that gun you so loose a little length of sight picture as apposed to the sight mounted further back like on the marlin 39a.

Nope, unfortunately it doesn't have the 3/8" dovetail in the barrel. It does have the 3/8" rail on the receiver though. Plus is drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

Ok the rep from Tech Sights answered my email, here is the answer for anybody looking to do this to their 597...

    Hi Matt,
We don’t have a sight specifically for the 597 but we have customers that have installed our TSM200 sight for the Marlin 60/795 on their rifles. It requires a bit of filing to get the rear sight to mount on the 3/8” scope rail. The front sight goes right on with no problem.
